Slim Tim's Super Thoughts...

Bring on the Honey Bears for the Super Bowl!
Let the Bears wear their Orange jerseys for the Super Bowl! (if not orange, how about the Navy jersey with navy pants...)
Devin Hester is one fast exciting dude!
Anyone going to Miami?
Isn't Good Rex just fantastic?
Were you as surpised as I was that the Bears are underdogs for the Super Bowl?

The key to the Bears, in my opinion, is emotion. This is true of most teams but I believe it's much more prevalent with the Bears--excitement after great plays drives them further to make even better plays, but disappointment from bad plays seems to drag them down and cause them to perpetuate the bad play. Arizona was a perfect example--you could see the wind just billow out of the sails after that first missed bomb. It was downhill from there.

Then conversly, on Sunday against the Saints, the early takeaways gave the defense an incredible surge--it was like giving amphetimines to a pit-bull and then sparking it with a cattle prod. That was awesome!

Sunday's was such a memorable game--perfect football setting with the snow coming down in big flakes and the Bears looking at home and comfortable in it. But what was really great is that the type of game they played is what I like the Bears to be remembered for--the hard-working blue-collar stuff like brutal defense and a pounding rushing game, with just a few fancy air plays tossed in for a nice little garnish. DUDE! Did I just say 'garnish'?!
